Tahiti is in the islands of French Polynesia, which is located about in the center of the Pacific Ocean. It is the largest island in French Polynesia.
We flew from Los Angeles to Tahiti on a Boeing 747. The runway seemed a bit short. The take off from Tahiti to Los Angeles was hair-raising. The plane taxied to the end for the runway. You felt a great suddering as the plane tried to make tight turn. On take-off, the plane was suddenly over water: almost straining to gain altitude as it seemingly skimmed across the water. On arrival at the terminal, they give you a Lai, they also give you one on your departure from Tahiti.
There is the Paul Gauguin museum which we visited on a bus tour through Tahiti. It is a building housing Paul Gaugins paintings, with the beautiful Tahitian landscape as a backdrop.
In the picture above, is the hotel complex on the island of Moorea that my wife and I stayed at on our honeymoon. We were given a fruit basket at our hut when we arrived.The pineapple was so fresh and sweet.
Here is my new wife lounging on the porch of our hut which looks out over the ocean. We enjoyed the water; having water fights, viewing the exotic marine life.
