Germany - Munich

Munich TrainstationThe Munich train station was our first excursion. We arrived at the hotel in the late afternoon. Although exhausted, we needed to exchange money, and find out about how to use our train passes. For supper, we bought sandwiches, and something to drink from a little kiosk in the lobby area.

You can take the train to and from the Munich Airport. We had a stroller and a two years old to contend with, so we just went by taxi.

The water from the tap in Munich must be cominig from the Alps 60 miles away, because it is so pure, and cold. I found myself drinking it in large quantities.

Munich AltstadtThis is in the Altstadt on Neuhauserstrasse. We made a lot of excursions in Munich mostly because we could use the stroller for our son. You can buy fresh fruit like cherries here, and take them back to your room for a little snack. We usually ate supper here in the evening. You can get anything from traditional German cuisine to pizza. There are numerous jewelry shops, and places to buy souvenirs in this marketplace.
